Textured Melamine
Our European cabinets have very different doors. Two of our styles are MDF covered in a textured melamine.
This textured melamine gives the texture and appearance of wood grains and it covers all six sides of each door.
You do not need to worry about this surface peeling off over time because the melamine is a form of high-quality plastic similar to what is used for laminated coating. This makes it much stronger and more durable than cheap surfaces found on Thermofoil doors.
Textured Melamine doors are available on our Cocoa Flat and Milan Flat cabinets.
High-Gloss
Our other European cabinets have a thick lacquer finish that we call “High Gloss”.
These impressive looking doors each have an incredibly smooth finish layered on top of 3/4 inch MDF flat panels to prevent the serious warping and paint cracking that often occurs to natural wood doors with this kind of finish.
High Gloss Doors are available on our High Gloss White, Silver and Charcoalcabinets.
3/4″ Premium Plywood Box
Our cabinet bodies for our European Collection are made with premium 3/4 inch thick plywood. This extra thickness helps make the body of our cabinets very sturdy so that they will last a long time.
3/4″ Premium Plywood Shelf
The shelves in all of our cabinets are made from 1/4 inch plywood. The removable shelves in cabinets is one more area where many companies cut corners to save themselves money by only offering a 1/2 inch thick shelf.
Cabinet Feature
Full 3/4″ Thick Plywood Back Panel
Our back panel is a full 3/4 inch thick plywood panel; the same strong material used for the rest of the body. The back panel is an area where many other companies will cut corners. It is common to find cabinet bodies with flimsy back panels made from 1/8 inch or 1/4 inch MDF that is reinforced with 3 inch strips of plywood.
Tandem Drawer Box
The drawer box on our European Collection is known as a Tandem Drawer Box. This heavy duty metal drawer is different in that the side walls of the drawer also act as the tracks for the drawer. The quality metal in each drawer gives off an unmistakably modern look, while the veneered bottom panel matches the interior of the cabinets. The built-in tracks on the tandem drawers also have excellent soft-close mechanisms that insure an easy gentle close every time.
